Air travel
If you have to choose between bus, train, car or plane, what would be your pick? If you are a fan of air flights, then the pro-con list below will be familiar. Fell free to add as many arguments as you like.
Pro:
- fast way to travel (you can cross countries in hours, not days)
- comfortable (if it's not a low cost company :) )
- relatively cheap, especially if you buy the airplane ticket 2-3 weeks before departure
- less tiring
- good option when travelling with children for long distances
- nice stewardesses
- beautiful landscape (especially when clouds are below you)
- airports are good places to meet people while waiting
- if you arrive earlier for boarding, you can read a book, a magazine, something you like. If travelling for pleasure, you can start sending postcards
Con:
- air travel is not always secure. You never know what could happen between taking off and landing
- the food in the airplanes offering cheap flight is not so great; in airports also you can count on junk-ish food
- it's a mean of transport quite expensive if you need a ticket for tomorrow
- the headache caused by the pressure is not very pleasant
- it's very annoying when you don't have the sit next to the window and you want to enjoy the landscape
- sometimes the flight itself takes less than the waiting period with the checking in and out, security control and boarding
- you are not allowed to have liquids in the plane, in your hand luggage
- you can't use the telephone or other electronic devices during an air travel. During taking off and landing is prohibited and during the flight it's advisable
- flights get cancelled or get late and ruin your plan. So, it would be better to have a second plan in mind, just in case.
- air travel can get you up sight down when hour circle is involved
- if you travel frequently, you get bored with the "in case of emergency" training
