Blind dates

Who's brave enought to get accept a blind date, please raise your hand! For those who haven't decided yet if they want to try it or not, there is a pro-con list below.

Pro: 
  • it could be the perfect opportunity to fall in love at the first sight
  • it's a perfect way to meet new people, especially if you don't have time for going to parties or social events
  • even if it's not the best date of your life, you never know when you'll need a friend
  • any person with a sense of humor and confidence in herself/himself to handle various situations might find blind dates funny and useful; adventurous people are also perfect candidates for blind dates
  • it's a good way to accumulate experience in dealing with people
  • if you have a problem speaking with strangers, blind dates are a good exercise
  • if you don't like to flirt or to call for someone's attention, then a discrete blind date can help you find a partner
Con: 
  • you never know that to wear because you don't know the person you'll meet
  • with all the good reference, you still can get a very boring night out
  • you'll have to be prepared to sustain conversation
  • you'll have to make backup plans
  • if the blind date is a disaster, you'll have to make up excuses for not meeting her/him again
  • if you have an anxious personality or you don't handle disappointment or rejection too well, might consider other choices to meet new people.
  • totally blind dates should be avoid - changing emails, speaking on the telephone is always helpful
  • the obsession for making a good first impression can create problems
