Boyfriend of 5 years

Me and my boyfriend have been together forever. we met in 2001 in high school and became really good friends. We dated for 1 year when I was 18 and he was 19. This was the longest relationship we both ever had. We got back together and lived together for 3 years. We had a huge falling out, but have been trying to make it work for about a year now. He means everything to me and I see myself in his eyes. Sometimes if he enters the room unexpected my heart still jumps if I am not actually paying attention and I meet his eye. We have been fighting an awful lot lately and he told me a week ago that he doesn't wanna talk to me anymore....I am really hurt about this but want to know if I should try fighting for him.

Is a nerd, not a pervert in the least bit
Doesn't own any porn
Loves cats
Dependable
Goes with the flow on most things
Enjoys being a man (walking on the outside on crosswalks, opening all doors...I never carry anything over 5 pounds....)
Practices good hygene
Partakes in some of my intrests
I can perform my socially unacceptable habits in front of him
Can make amazing breakfast (and I know I can't)
Takes good care of me when I am sick
Gets my opinion before making decisions
Good Listener
Always lets me know where he is and what he's doing
Waits for me to call/text him when I get to where I am to make sure I get there safely
Still tells me I am beautiful and stares at me
Says he will make a great father and I can tell by the way he treats animals and other kids
Con:
Tough to wake up
Too sensitive
Has a hard time standing up to his family
Introverted
Procrastinator
Has trust issues
When fighting gets bad he'll ignore me or "goes for kills" when it gets really bad
Sleeps with TV on (HAHA)
Puts me second to his brother and sisters (I feel I should be equal)
Still gets nervous when seeing my family

Hot one day and cold the next
Can be petty at times
Sometimes has double standards

So I am torn between living on campus next year or continuing to commute. my friends are getting an awesome on-campus apartment and I really want to live with them. However.
I have been with this guy for about 4 months and things were pretty good until he broke his leg. He became very hard to deal with and started being rude to myself and my children.
Stay or leave the relationship?
