City break
City break is an expression used for any short time vacation in a specific city, usually a city with important tourist attractions or with an impressive history. It's not a very long vacation, so it would be better to have a plan so you can see the most of it.
Pro:
- perfect for a short vacation, for a week-end away from home and from the stress of the every day life
- you can see an unknown place or visit a city; even if it may seem that you won't have the time to see all the important places and the tourist attractions, there is still plenty of time to see the best of your destination, get the spirit of the place and meet new people
- it is a very good option for those who don't have the money for a long vacation or can't afford the time to take some time off
- you can spend a nice, romantic weekend in one of the famous capitals of Europe like Paris, Rome, Vienna, Lisbon, Berlin or Madrid
- the luggage is sensible easier than when you go into a long vacation
- you need less money for a city break than for a long vacation
Con:
- a city break can be a tiring thing to do in a weekend, especially if you need some rest. You'll feel like seeing as much as possible in the city you'll visit and that leaves you very little time to sleep
- most of the times, a city break involves exploring the city by day and its entertainment offers by night (this means you'll go back home quite tired)
- it is always something you have to give up visiting/ seeing/trying
- you need a priority list and stick to it for visiting the tourist attractions or the places that interest you
- it is advisable to travel by airplane during a city break, so you can spend as much time as possible at your destination; if you don't feel like travelling by air, than you should probably start planning a long vacation for the summer or for the winter holidays.
