Google Dream

The iPhone phenomenon is far from weakening, but there are few competitors willing to sell a better product. The rivals of Apple company's new born include LG Sunshine and Google Dream. Let's see what Google phone has to offer.

Google Dream
Pro:
  • it's thin, about 3 inches wide and 5 inches long
  • it's not a clone of iPhone, so it should impress us in other ways
  • Google Dream is the first device that uses Android, the latest operating system from Google
  • it offers flexibility and freedom, especially because of the touch-sensitive screen
  • Google Dream uses a keyboard more similar than the one we are using every day on our notebooks or even PCs. And the best part is that the screen changes from vertical portrait mode to horizontal display when you use the keyboard.
  • the keyboard slides from beneath the touchscreen and it is easy to use
  • you can install any software you like on a Google phone; even the selling package includes some freeware software, like TuneWiki, a software for karaoke lovers, that synchronizes lyrics with youtube videos.
Although it has the same price as iPhone, Google Dream is cheaper because of the free software you can use
  • Google Dream has built-in GPS, tilt sensor for gaming and camera
  • the screen is time-sensitive: if you hold down the finger longer on a specific area, you'll expand controlling
  • the e-mails, text documents or YouTube links are very easy to reach through the icons from the top of the screen
  • Google phone lets you copy and paste information from the internet, for example, into a mail
  • as expected, the phone uses Google services such as Google Maps, StreetView and Gmail
Con:
  • Google Dream is not as popular as iPhone... yet, so if you want to be trendy, this phone might mess up your plans:)
  • it's pretty expensive for the moment
  • Google phone is expected to be on sale in late October - you'll need to wait a little bit longer
