Hire a member of the family
Your mom is willing to help you with your new born. You father wants to get involved in the project you are working on. You have a cousin who knows people that would help your business. Do you hire them or ask for their help?
- a retired mom to watch a new born is a very reliable solution
- working with your wife/husband could be great for the business
- he/she can earn extra money
- some persons from your family are glad to help or to have some extra activity
- hiring a member of your family gives you more flexibility - you can ask him/her to work 6 hours a day, not 4 (part-time job) or 8 (full-time job)
- you pay what you can afford - sometimes this means paying less or paying more than if you would hire an unknown person
- normally every body wins - you have a person you can trust as an employee and your relative has a friendly boss
- a member of your family can help you more than a regular employee to raise your business
- if you have a lawyer or a doctor in your family, there is no need to look for another specialist
- you might feel strange to paying a member of the family to watch your child
- some persons would feel uncomfortable with "helping" you for money
- you might need to set up specific hours and time schedules and stick to it - this imply some restrictions
- conflicts related to the job are more delicate to solve
- you might feel occasionally that you take advantage on your relative or the other way around
- if you work from home, rules are a must; and with the rules come the issues related to communicating and respecting them
- you can't treat a member of your family as a normal employee- you have to make small talks, to treat them nice and to pay more attention to their needs and feelings
- if he/she want a raise, it's getting uncomfortable to negotiate
- the limit between job and family is not very clear

So I am torn between living on campus next year or continuing to commute. my friends are getting an awesome on-campus apartment and I really want to live with them. However.
I have been with this guy for about 4 months and things were pretty good until he broke his leg. He became very hard to deal with and started being rude to myself and my children.
