I am changing careers, help me decide which degree to choose...
I am currently a Manager making a decent wage but I am bored, completely uninspired and I don't see myself remaining in this job for many years. I am trying to decide which program to go back to school for part-time while I work full time.
Pro:
Degree: Associates/Business
- My company will pay $5000 in tuition reimbursement per year
- I need approx 50 credits to complete an associates degree
- I could complete it in 2 years
Degree: Associates/Physical Therapy
- It's a program I am interested in and a job I believe I could love
- It's NOT a desk job.
- It's making a difference in people's lives - how they manage injury and pain.
Con:
Degree: Associates/Business
- I'm not that interested in this degree and therefore my heart is not really in it
- I will likely have to remain in the same type of desk job upon graduation
- It contains courses that I am dreading
Degree: Associates/Physical Therapy
- My company will not give me any tuition reimbursement for this degree
- I need volunteer hours, prereq courses and will be placed on a waiting list to get in.
- If accepted I have to complete 70 credits which will take at least 3-4 years so it will take a lot longer to complete.
