If tomorrow the Internet wouldn't be available for you and the rest of the world, how would it be? Would you become unemployed? Would you go back to telephone and paper letter?

Pro: 
  • it facilitates communication
  • it helps businesses - companies can sell their products with fewer investments
  • it makes information available worldwide; there's no need to look for a good book in tens of libraries, we can search over the Internet for it
  • it makes our life easier (we can write an email, read the newspaper, play a game, find out about the latest events in the other part of the world, talk to our friends from overseas etc)
  • it helps us to keep updates with the latest technologies that interest us
  • it helps us meet people with the same interests as ours (communities, forums, chats, websites etc)
  • it makes the world "spin" faster because the information is delivered to us instantly
  • Internet can be used for helping people - donations
  • it eases our bills payment by paying online with the credit card and saves us time spent at offices in line otherwise
  • it is cheaper to talk over the Internet than over the phone
Con: 
  • it allows everybody to speak about everything under the protection on anonymity- racism, instigation to violence have a strong voice over the Internet
  • the porn is on high demand and sometimes children have access to it
  • the search engines keep turning more and more unrelated results
  • Internet exposes people and limits the level of intimacy
  • it fastens things up; due to Internet, almost all the things happen instantly and pressure people (the email is sent immediately and there no turning back, the subscription to a newsletter is make with a click, a blog post is published in a second and so on)
  • people working on Internet related fields, have to keep up with the speed imposed by the Internet (we have to type faster, write faster, react faster)
  • as any other medium, the Internet can also be used as a way to manipulate people, even though it involves more effort in that
  • working on the Internet or with Internet all day long is tiring
  • the Internet makes us more lazy - we don't try to make things, to experiment, we just google it and find the solution without too much trouble
  • sometimes connecting to Internet is a really painful experience, especially when need it desperately
