iRiver Clix2

You are not sure if iRiver Clix2 is as good as it is advertised? See the pro and con arguments for this device and decide for yourself if it's a "I must have it" or not.

Pro:
  • impressive display. It is an OLED display with an incredible clarity. You can see videos with subtitles at  high quality, from unlimited viewing angles and with vibrant color reproduction
  • it is VERY easy to use due to D-Click system. All you have to do is to use the margins of the device for navigation
  • the sound for the FM radio is clear
  • you can record music from the radio. Clix2 is able to memorize as many radio stations as it finds while scanning
  • clix2 is an ebook reader and even if the display is not very big, you can still read in good conditions
  • you can use it to show your friends pictures from the last vacation
  • you can play flash games. My favorite is the one with the man trying not to fall into water
  • clix2 offers you the possibility to listen up to 24 hours of music and up to 6 hours of videos
  • it charges via USB in about 2.5 hours, excellent given how many hours you can use it.
  • iRiver has shown great interest in design, because Clix 2 is a very elegant, easy to use, light, slim and practical device
  • you can load playlists to listen the music you like best, you can rate songs or add them to the "quick list" and play only that list or only the songs with higher rate
  • it remembers the last song/video/page of text you were listening/watching/reading
  • you can setup different themes, even pictures for background
  • iRiver Clix2 can be used as a sound recording device
  • it's cheaper and funnier that an iPod Nano
  • Clix2 is recognized as a removable disk drive and accepts anything dragged and dropped into it with an impressive speed
Con:
  • it only accepts .wma files for video and you have to convert .avi or .mpeg movies. You have to wait up to an hour to convert a two hour movie, maybe more, depending on the PC
  • it doesn't support .pdf files or any others except .txt for its ebook reader option

Pro arguments

Charger

When I bought my Clix2 (U20) I got a free AC charger for it so I can plug it into the wall to charge. I've also discovered that I can use my Motorola Razor charger to charge it too. I got my clix2 from www. warehouse123.com, it was delivered in 3 days from Hong Kong to me in the UK. Plus they’re on sale at the minute

Con arguments

adding to con list

It can only be charged by usb; if you don't have a computer around every day, you can't use it:(
