My best friend and ex boyfriend are best friends and I don't want it to be awkward when I visit my best friend?

One of my best friends whom I've known for 2 1/2 years lives 2 hours away from me. He introduced me to my ex boyfriend because they are best friends. I ended things with my ex in January of 2011. Admitly, I have been torn up about it and sometimes still feel sad occasionally about the whole situation but he was my first love so I half expect that. However, I've accepted it and have moved on and currently have a new boyfriend whom I really and sincerely care about. I want to go see my best friend because I have not seen him in over a year because of the distance. I told him I would make a trip up over the summer but at the time was not ready to deal with the possibility of my ex being a jerk and my ex bestfriend and her husband, whom once lived in my town, to try and hurt me(another story...). So I was going to make a trip down tonight for a football game because they are both in marching band and could only see me for the 3rd quarter but I'm still hesitant...

I don't want to walk away wishing I'd never done this but I won't know what will happen if I never try...but I just don't know what to do right now.

Pro:

I get to see my best friend.

I get to see his marching band perform(he wanted me to see them perform...).

The chance my ex-bf will realize he was wrong and it won't even matter to me in the least bit.

I will make an extreme effort to look amazing.

I don't have to look back and wonder "what if" I wouldve done this...

No ex best friend or husband to physically or emotionally harm me(they moved...)...

I can surprise my best friend cause we really want to see each other but we're both busy.

I'm okay with seeing my ex bf because I've come to terms with everything and I have moved on.

I look a lot older and more fit since the last time either of them saw me(I sort of got obsessed with working out...)...

The weather will be nice for the football game.

Im a songwriter and might be able to get a few more songs out of this for my future career.

The chance my boyfriend will regret everything he did(cheated & etc I wont mention...) and apologize.

Final and last bit of closure between me and my ex boyfriend.

Con:

I don't get to hang out with my current boyfriend as long today.

It will be a little awkward, not so much for me...but for them cause they won't be expecting it at all(I plan to surprise my best friend if I do go...).

The chance my ex boyfriend will be a jerk to me and try hurting me again because despite the fact I'm over him he can still hurt me in ways no one else can...

It's out of my comfort zone.

The driving time.

My best friend's current girlfriend does not like me in the least bit and there's a chance she will be extrememly rude to me...

It may cause drama just because I'm there because my best friend's current gf may get mad at him if he hugs me or anything and I don't want him to have to deal with any drama because of me.
