One of my friends likes me...

We are in college. One of the guys in my circle of friends has made it clear that he is interested in me and would like to be more than friends. I'm not looking for a serious, long-term relationship, but going out with someone who I already know and trust for a few months might be fun. I don't have a lot of romantic experience, and it would be good to learn with someone who I already feel comfortable with. I'm not concerned about how my circle of friends would react, or what would happen to the group if we broke up, since everyone is slowly going their separate ways.
Pro:
-We're already friends, so I know his personality and stuff (no awkward first date chit-chat).
-We have some common interests
-I know he would treat me well (I'm starting to think this is a rare thing to find in people).
-It would be nice to be in a relationship.
Con:
-I don't feel nervous or have that fluttery feeling when I see him, like I normally do when I'm with someone I like; I wonder if this is just because I'm used to thinking of him as a friend?
-I'm pretty sure he really likes me; should I really date someone when they really like me but I'm not sure how I feel?
-He's kind of a quieter, "nerdier" person; a lot of my other friends would not get along really well with him.
-I'm worried it will end badly, since I know already I don't want something really serious
New pro con lists
So I am torn between living on campus next year or continuing to commute. my friends are getting an awesome on-campus apartment and I really want to live with them. However.
I have been with this guy for about 4 months and things were pretty good until he broke his leg. He became very hard to deal with and started being rude to myself and my children.
Stay or leave the relationship?
