Study Abroad!
I am trying to decided whether I should study abroad in Budapest, Hungary next semester or if I should stay at school. Help me please!
Pro:
- I have never spent three months in another country
- I am fascinated by Hungary
- I may never be able to do this again!
- Classes will be easier
- I can travel all over Central and Eastern Europe (which I have never done)
- It will cost less than tuition (but with travel expenses, it will be about the same)
Con:
- I love my school and I only have three semesters left
- I am in a wonderful relationship and I will miss my boyfriend a lot
- My best friends are graduating this spring, so I will not see them next year
- After returning from abroad, I will likely have to go home for the summer (I live out of state and far away from my friends and boyfriend, meaning I will be away from them for 6 months)
- It will be difficult to find a good summer internship while abroad
- I have a GREAT job/internship at school and I may lose it if I go abroad
- I currently hold many leadership positions at my school and will lose those if I leave

I was afraid and I had some of your fears when I went to study in Portugal for 6 months. My family and friends were far away, I missed my boyfriend a lot and I had to adapt to a completely different world. But the experience during that half of year was amazing. I wouldn't trade it for anything and I don't regret a single second, even if by then I had some hard days too!
