toxic or madly in love?

I am in love with a man with a lot of the same relationship and personality traits as me. I am trying to put aside the fact that I am madly I love with this man and figure out if its possible to spend the rest of our lives together or will this just end up ending with us both having broken hearts?

makes me feel beautiful, helps my low self esteem
we have a great time laughing and having fun together a lot
he is honest
trustworthy
makes me laugh
not dull or boring
best sex I have ever had
good looking
makes me feel safe
smart
Con:
he needs to feel like he's always in control
when we fight, he says horrible things to me
stubborn
not financially well off
spends a lot of time working out and making himself look good [could be a pro or a con)
has a need to always win an argument
doesn't see that he can be manipulative at times
hates my dog

how can he help yourself esteem, yet he is quick to put you down during an argument? Dump.

So I am torn between living on campus next year or continuing to commute. my friends are getting an awesome on-campus apartment and I really want to live with them. However.
I have been with this guy for about 4 months and things were pretty good until he broke his leg. He became very hard to deal with and started being rude to myself and my children.
