>Make sure everyone is treated fairly.
>Help protect minorities and other groups from being wrongly treated.
>Has power to strike
>Try to eliminate unhealthy working conditions
>Stand for protection of their employees
Con:
>Push wages to unreasonable levels
>Dangers involved with strikes
>Long strikes cost money
>May alient customers
>Actions could have be seen as greedy and self serving
