If you smell the love in the air and you started making arrangements for this day a month ago, then you might be a Valentine's Day maniac. If you are searching a nice place to escape from Valentine's Day atmosphere, then you'll have a hard time finding it... because most people celebrate the Day of Love. Or not?

  • Valentine's Day encourages everyone to take a break from the everyday stress and look at the bright side of life
  • it is an opportunity for people to show love and feel loved
  • it brings people joy
  • friends and family have another reason to get together or go out
  • Valentine's Day is a very good excuse to eat many candies
  • it is a perfect day to get married or to celebrate years of marriage
  • it's all about getting the romance back into our lives
Con: 
  • Valentine's Day is over-commercialized and the romance is starting to lose its meaning
  • many of us would be more impressed to receive flowers and cards on any other day and especially after a hard or tiring day
  • the 14-th of February puts a lot of pressure on single peoples
  • men have to go out and buy stuff, even if they don't really feel like it
  • writing beautiful things on Valentines cards requires time and a special mood
  • Valentine's Day usually implies love, relationships and commitment; it would be odd to give presents to friends
  • it brings depressing thoughts to those who are still single
  • people don't get a day off from school or work:)

Valentine's Day gives people the opportunity to take a moment and appreciate their significant other. Even though this could be done on any given day, Valentine's Day reinstitutes the affection so many couples may lose.
